Epicurean Ethics & Philosophy of ‘Pleasure’

Pleasure is not a thing which we can get after the satisfaction of desire. Pleasure does not consist in the contentment of the needs. When the need increases pleasure moves away. Without bringing the pleasure into the life, the needs, the desires, the wanting, the longing etc. are the things which complicated and intricate our life. Epicurus said that the best means to becoming a happier person is to live simple life with simplicity, moderation, cheerfulness, temperance etc.

Are we sending our kids to Schools or Factories?

We are making them helpless and incapable of having control of their own life. Children are very much capable of creating knowledge required for their need for each age and stage. What we do makes their capability limited by making them follow the second hand information. Children learn best in an environment which is exactly opposite to that of school. Education system is making them failures. Education is forced on children and it kills the natural drive and desire for learning. That is why all children in school just want to complete it somehow and get over with it. Formal education shuts down your inner voice. It’s always somebody outside of you telling what to do, how to do, when to do. That is why we have so many shallow adults in society today.

गौतम बुद्ध पारंपरिक या मौलिक ?

गौतम बुद्ध पारंपरिक नहीं, मौलिक हैं। गौतम बुद्ध किसी परंपरा, किसी लीक को नहीं पीटते हैं। वे ऐसा नहीं कहते हैं कि अतीत के ऋषियों ने ऐसा कहा था, इसलिए मान लो। वे ऐसा नहीं कहते हैं कि वेद में ऐसा लिखा है, इसलिए मान लो। वे ऐसा नहीं कहते हैं कि मैं कहता हूं इसलिए मान लो। वे कहते हैं, जब तक तुम न जान लो, मानना मत।

इस धरती का सबसे बुद्धिमान प्राणी मनुष्य अपने द्वारा बनाई गई व्यवस्थाओं को देखकर गर्व करता है और उस पर इतराता है। परंतु यही गर्व जब घमंड में परिवर्तित हो जाता है जब वह प्रकृति द्वारा बनाई गई व्यवस्था को चुनौती देने लगता है और प्रकृति के नियमों में बाधा उत्पन्न करता है।
